Knights aid Sisters
For the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in the Tucson community, the Knights of Columbus have been a formidable force.
In addition to financial assistance and hosting fund-raisers, Knights from Tucson and Green Valley have completed several projects this year ranging from picking oranges to repairing handrails in front of the Benedictine Monastery on North Country Club Drive. They also provided the assembly room with a ramp and emergency lighting.
When the Knights learned the Sisters wanted to order a freestanding holy water font, they insisted on providing it for them. They found a skilled woodworker and ceramic artist in Tubac who produced a beautiful font for the monastery chapel.
To thank the Knights for all their wonderful gifts, the community helped celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Knights of Columbus. They invited the Knights for a Sunday Eucharistic celebration and reception. Nineteen members, in full regalia, added color and solemnity to the occasion. Father Van Wagner celebrated the mass.
The gathering included a delegation from the Arizona State Council of the Knights of Columbus – State Deputy Stanley J. Schroeder, Herbert Maddock and Gary Boscardin.

Attention, shutterbugs!
The Diocese of Tucson is preparing an updated directory and plans to include in it a photo of every church in the Diocese.
While many photos are in hand, many others - particularly of churches situated outside the Tucson metropolitan area - are not.
We encourage each parish to designate a “shutterbug” to snap a photo of his or her church and email it to us.
