thanks for whoever brought that idea of donating the columbarium, it makes the cementaries look rather unique and attractive while at the sametime helping the dead rest in peace.

Dear Pat and Jerry: Frank and I still ask ourselves why did our Lord allow the fire to destroy the Shrine,and realize when our Lord allows something to happen, it is always for a good reason and someday we will all know the reason why. He always gives us back what he takes and it is always better. We donated our Little Princess St Philomena and she wanted to be there, it was her choice. We want to donate her there again if you approve of this, please let us know. You are in our prayers and we believe in the Power of prayer. God bless you for your generosity in wanting to rebuilt the Shrine. With Love Frank and Gloria Costello

I’m deeply saddened of this news. My mother and I visited with Pat and Jerry as we lived down the road on Dead Bear Draw. I have a
photograph of Jerry and my mother kneeling
before the beautiful statue of Our Lady.
Pat is seated between them on the floor
inside the small house at the base of the
hill. I believe it was 1992. We knew of the
ongoing issues which resident neighbors raised with the County Board of Supervisors
over the statue, its height, etc. Pat & Jerry
persevered and zoning upheld their rights.
I have often thought of the great gift
the Chouinard’s have received and shared
with SE Arizona. I’m considering relocating
to the area again and would welcome any
opportunity to volunteer time and talent.
Should you or your family visit Oregon, please let me know.
Thank you and I pray for the glorious restoration of Our Lady of the Huachuca Mountains.

This article brought back memories of similar experiences. The mention of Irene Ortiz and Tubutama brought up the question of whether it might be someone I would like to talk to. My mother was born there and grew up there. The Rosales family was very well known there. I visited with David Ortiz a few years back. Thanks for the memories. God bless!
