Duckro, who served as Director since 2003 will continue to serve as a deacon, focusing on pastoral ministry for those who are ill, and has been assigned to Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Tucson.
“I’ve taken an understanding that the ways of God are a mystery to us,” said Duckro. Dr. Rosemary Celaya-Alston began working as Director of the office in January. “I was very glad to have helped the Diocese… it was a collaborative process and the best work I’ve been asked to do in my career.”
Before joining the Diocese, he was a professor of behavioral medicine in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at the St. Louis University School of Medicine and had authored several articles in psychology-related publications.
“All in our Diocese hold the highest regard and respect for Deacon Paul and the dedicated and competent service he rendered for 10 years,” Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas said. “He has earned the trust of all and has been a person anyone could call on for help, assistance, counsel and advice.”
“His service now as a deacon will continue the good work for the Diocese he began as our Director of the Office of Child, Adolescent and Adult Protection,” Bishop Kicanas said. “He has been an admirable coworker and friend.”
