May issue
Posted on by Bern ZovistoskiIn the May issue of The New Vision, which is available the weekend of May 6 at parishes throughout the Diocese, you’ll find a wonderful photograph of Msgr. Edward C. Carscallen with Bishop Kicanas as he is honored for 65 years in the priesthood. Msgr. Carscallen is retired now and lives in Green Valley.
Msgr. Carscallen was one of 15 priests honored for their years of service at the annual Convocation for Priests.
You’ll also find several articles and photos about foreign priests and how they are acclimated, or “acculturated,” to the Diocese of Tucson, including a first-person report by Father Paul Utser of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Tucson, and Father Ricky Ordonez, the diocese’s vocations director.
A series of photos taken in Cuba by Bishop Kicanas during his recent trip to witness the visit of Pope Benedict XVI accompany a report on the Bishop’s views of that troubled island nation.
There is much more, too. Be sure to pick up a copy of the May issue of The New Vision.
