Around the Diocese
Posted on by AdminOils blessed
Priests from throughout the Diocese of Tucson joined Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas on April 2 for the annual Chrism Mass at St. Augustine Cathedral, where three oils were blessed and distributed to pastors to use at their parishes during the coming year.
The occasion was used to install newly named Monsignors Al Schifano and Raul Trevizo as Prefects of the Papal Household.
The oils blessed were the oil of Catechumens, the oil of the infirm and holy chrism, to be used as people receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and the Anointing of the Sick.
